Fulltime Substitute Teacher K-12, Special Education

Wausau School District and Stevens Point School District 

  • Taught all grade levels, K-12 Fall 2015, Spring 2016, and Summer 2016

  • Followed curriculum and lesson plans on very short notice and quickly adapted to new grade levels and subjects, as well as special education jobs daily between two school districts

 

 

Lead Instructor, Lead Artist, and Grant-Writer, Impressions of Point

Stevens Point Sculpture Park

  • Led five community art workshops in Spring and Summer 2018 and three community workshops in Summer 2019 

  • Designed and implemented programing for Impression of Point, a two-year collaboration between the Stevens Point Sculpture Park, 8 community organizations and 195 community members to cast and construct an iron gate in the sculpture park

  • Wrote and received a Reach for the Stars grant through the Wausau School Foundation

  • Designed and Led a  4-week hands-on workshop with 24 high school art students, where they learned design, mold-making, and aluminum casting

  • Engaged with the school and greater community at C.A.F.E (Cultural Arts Festival at East)

Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts

  • Taught Summer and Fall 2009

  • Developed, planned, and oversaw the implementation of a summer-long collaboration between the University of Minnesota Department of Art Foundry and Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts

  • Taught alongside the Interact staff and mentored 20 artists with cognitive disabilities, ranging in age from 18-65 years old, to create sculpture that culminated in an aluminum pour at the U of M Foundry for the exhibition, MetAl at the Regis Center for the Arts, Quarter Gallery

  • Taught Fall 2006, Spring and Summer 2007

  • Oversaw an academic year after-school arts program in cooperation with the Wausau School District and six of its elementary schools

  • Developed, coordinated, and implemented a studio arts curriculum for 15-20 kindergarten to 5th grade students per school inspired by, and coinciding with, the current exhibitions and permanent collection at the museum
